The children were walking in the forest, their feet crunching the snow with each step. The muffled sound of their little boots was the only noise in the whole forest. They were feeling very tired, a little cold and they had no idea how long it would take to get there. More snow started gently falling. The Guardian was walking ahead. One of the little boys held his hand as if his whole fragile life depended upon it. Another boy and two girls followed. They all wore their uniform already..
This is the beginning of a new story, ‘The Orphanage’.
This week I was especially looking forward to Friday. I needed to get more panels done for ‘My Name is Gaya’ but I also had other ideas I was itching to sketch. I began by drawing a Hampstead house and then another image surfaced. It was ‘The Orphanage - part 1’: I did it using a mix of charcoal, Rotring liquid ink and pen. I hope to post more on it soon.
